Narrative text adalah teks yang berisi tentang suatu cerita.

To entertain the readers (untuk menghibur pembacanya).

➥ Generic Structure

1. Orientation : pengenalan tokoh dan setting.

2. Complication : munculnya permasalahan.

3. Resolution : Penyelesaian permasalahan.

➥ Language features

1. Past Tense (S + V₂)

Example :

- One day, the litle boy was very hungry.

- However, when he tired to pull his hand out, he couldn't.

2. Saying Verb (kata kerja berupa say, ask, tell, state, reply, order, question, dan suggest)

Example :

- "I'am sure it's okay"said the litle boy.

- "Well, don't be so greedy," his mother answered.

Contoh narrative text yaitu dongeng, mitos, fabel, cerita rakyat dan legenda.
